A businessman has alleged that a group of masked individuals forcibly entered his office in Motijheel, vandalized office property, assaulted him, and threatened him and his family with serious consequences if he failed to leave Bangladesh.
According to the complaint, Abul Faisal, owner of Messrs. Trade Fair, arrived at his office in Motijheel on June 12, 2025, when a group of masked men allegedly blocked his way and forcibly entered the premises.
The attackers allegedly vandalized various items inside the office and intimidated the employees, forcing them to leave. They subsequently assaulted Faisal inside the office, causing injuries to different parts of his body, particularly his right leg.
During the alleged attack, the individuals reportedly ordered Faisal to leave Bangladesh immediately and warned him not to maintain any contact with Mochanaf. They allegedly further threatened that failure to comply with their instructions would result in serious consequences for Faisal and members of his family.
As the attackers were wearing masks, Faisal said he was unable to identify them individually. However, based on their manner of speaking, behavior, and information he allegedly received afterward, he suspects that the attackers may have been associated with or acting on behalf of individuals linked to Bakaul.
The complaint further describes Bakaul as an influential figure allegedly connected with senior leadership and influential individuals associated with both Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). These allegations, however, would require independent verification.
Following the incident, Faisal reportedly expressed serious concerns about his personal safety and the security of his family. He also alleged that the incident disrupted his business activities and left him fearful of further attacks.
