ICT orders notices in newspapers directing Sheikh Hasina and six other fugitives to surrender
The International Crimes Tribunal-2 today sent former Cox’s Bazar-4 MP Abdur Rahman Bodi and three retired army officials to jail after showing them arrested in a crimes against humanity case over the killing of Teknaf councillor Ekramul Haque in an alleged staged gunfight in 2018.

The three others are retired Colonel Mohammad Anwar Latif Khan, Brigadier General Mahbub Alam, who was then a lieutenant colonel, and Brigadier General Miftauddin Ahmed, also then a lieutenant colonel.
The tribunal also directed the relevant authorities to publish notices in two newspapers asking seven fugitive accused, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, to surrender before it.
The other fugitives are former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, former inspector general of police Benazir Ahmed, retired Major Ruhul Amin, Lieutenant Commander Ashek ur Rahman and former DGFI officer Squadron Leader Najmus Sakib Mahmud.

The prosecution told the tribunal that the four accused were produced before it today after arrest warrants had been issued against them. It also submitted non-execution reports on the warrants against the seven fugitives.
After hearing the prosecution, the tribunal sent the four to jail, ordered publication of the notices and fixed September 7 for the next hearing.
According to the prosecution, Ekramul was picked up from a road in Teknaf on May 26, 2018, and was later killed in an alleged staged gunfight.
The prosecution has accused the 11 of unlawful detention, abduction, staging a gunfight, murder, as well as abetment, instigation and ordering the killing.
